Stations Map & Real-time Data

CBI manages a large coastal observation system with all data provided in near real-time to sponsors and all coastal stakeholders. The overall network includes the stations of the Texas Coastal Ocean Observation Network (TCOON) which currently consist of 30 active stations along the Texas Gulf Coast, with the primary mission of monitoring water levels. In addition, wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, air temperature, and water temperature are also monitored. Stations managed with other partners provide additional data such as water current, salinity, pH, and dissolved oxygen data. Data is collected using a combination of cellular devices, as well as internal satellite transmitters. All the data collected are accessible on this website, and via Wind-Info (361-992-WIND or 361-992-9463), an automated phone system that provides the general public with wind and water conditions for any station in the network.
